It spends a long time saving data, even though in the Options > Feeds > Clean Up I have unchecked Enable DB optimization.
Is there another setting I need to take care of?

Hi,
if you have enabled the option
Store a DB in memory
under
Tools -> Options -> General
that might slow down closing QuiteRSS.
