Why new items already marked Read

dmack7

Hello,

Why do some new feed items come in already marked as Read?  I have a brand new instance of QuiteRss and only have two feeds added.  The second feed after being added has 14 Unread items and 6 Read items.  Why are not all the items marked as Unread?

Thanks!

Sheldon

Kind regards,

Hello,

Hello,

Sure.  I started with a new install of QuiteRSS.  I removed the QuiteRSS pre-installed feed, just to make it simple.  The first feed I added was “80smovies.tumblr.com”.  When it was added in the 20 new feeds were all marked as Unread.  The second feed I added was “vintagegeekculture.tumblr.com”.  When it was added in there were 20 feeds, 14 Unread and 6 were already marked Read.

Interestingly when I did an update this morning on all feeds, I got 3 new feeds for the 80smovies and all these new feeds were marked Read.

Thanks!

Sheldon

Hello,

Hello,

Sorry, I didn't give you the complete feed names, just the basic URL.  Here they are :

          http://80smovies.tumblr.com/rss

          http://vintagegeekculture.tumblr.com/rss

Thanks!

Hello,

Hello,

Just to test, I removed the old version of RSS completely (version 0.18.9) and then downloaded and installed the newest version which was released a few days ago (version 0.18.10).  Then I added the 2 feeds as noted in the previous entry and the same thing happened.  At least 3 of the news feeds items on the 2nd installed feed came in as READ.  The other 17 were marked as UNREAD.  So, it looks like this behavior is still happening on the new level.

Thanks!

Try disabling option

Try disabling option "Automatically mark identical news as read". Settings-Feeds-General

That's what i wnated to

That's what i wanted to recommend, too. I tested your feeds for the last days with this setting disabled and it works fine. No news are marked as "READ".
