Hello,

I have been using QuiteRSS since version 0.8.6- almost two years. It has improved a lot regarding stability and features. I was quite happy using version 0.14.3 but today I updated it to the latest version- QuiteRSS 0.15.1 and I was shocked- although Menu Bar can be restored- "Show Menu Bar", there is no longer Main Toolbar. Please restore the Main Toolbar. Why remove it when it was possible to hide it? I uninstalled version 0.15.1 and installed version 0.14.3 again. If you bring the Main Toolbar back I will update but you if you don't- I will have to stick to version 0.14.3. Please don't force me to go back to RSSOwl. Main Toolbar may be hidden by default but please don't remove it! I need it and it won't harm anyone if it is there, available as an option. I hope that you will give the users the freedom to choose how QuiteRSS looks and functions.

Thanks for your excellent work and I do hope you will give the users an option to Show/Hide the Main Toolbar again!

Ah I can't believe that you

Ah I can't believe that you replied so quickly and gave me what I needed! I downloaded this portable version and the main toolbar is really there! Thank you so much! Since I was using the installer version (for easier updates) I hope that in the next release the option to show/hide the main toolbar will be also available in the installer version!

By the way I will suggest a simple but very useful feature that is available in RSSOwl but missing in QuiteRSS- if the user types a letter in the news panel RSSOwl shows the next feed beginning with the same letter- for example- typing "Q" shows the first article that begins with "Q"- "QuiteRSS", typing "Q" again navigates to the next article beginning with "Q"- for example "qBittorrent", etc. The feature is simple but is very handy facilitating quick search and navigation in the same time.

Thank you very much, Funcy-dcm!

This is my first post here but I have submitted bugs at Google Code issue tracker, for example issue 301.

Once again, thank you very much for the Main Toolbar!

Have a great weekend!

Asen

Hi there (this is my first

Hi there (this is my first post here Wink )!

I also find new GUI terrible and using old version, because the new one is much worse Sad

The new toolbar has no text marks on icons, which makes them smaller and harder to click. But the worst is that "Mark All News Read" stopped switching to next unread feed! Please correct this or at least add an option, because now I find QuiteRSS rather unusable Sad

Many thanks to the developers

Many thanks to the developers for bringing back the option to show/hide the main toolbar. I am glad that the QuiteRSS developers are not like those of Mozilla (who are deaf and blind to feedback) and listen to users. I always appreciate when developers give the users freedom to adapt the programs to their needs, preferences and habits. In my opinion removing functionality is never good- Nick Bradbury, the developer of once popular RSS reader FeedDemon wrote an article in his blog- Screw the Power Users, where he explained and almost bragged how he removed features to users's dissatisfaction. As a result many discontented users moved to other programs and FeedDemon is now defunct.

I would suggest one more new feature- although Import/Export Feeds works fine I think that this is implemented in a better and handier way in RSSOwl (at least for me)- RSSOwl lets the user export not only the feeds but also the settings together with the feeds, which is great. Recently I re-installed OS several times and wasted lots of time before I was able to customize QuiteRSS the way I like it. So I am suggesting either a separate option to export all QuiteRSS settings or an option to export feeds together with QuiteRSS settings. In my opinion this will be very useful (not only for me I hope).
