I don't normally read my news in quiterss. I just use it to keep track of my feeds. I usually just double click to open my news in firefox. Could you add an option to only count news as read when it is opened in an external browser. Thanks, you guys have the best offline rss client ever!

I do not quite understand you. Can you show this in screenshot.
Let me guess. You need an option a kind of "Mark feed read when open in external browser"?
Quiterss already marks news as read when you open them in an external browser since you have to click a news to double click it.
This is what normally happens; I click to read a news and it's marked as read: http://i.imgur.com/82N54wl.png
Every news I read (click on) is marked as read: http://i.imgur.com/qNZJnDy.png
This is what I want to happen; A news is only marked as read when I open it in an external browser (when I double click it): http://i.imgur.com/xxUeCi9.png
I would like an option like this: http://i.imgur.com/k9cPE85.png
Thank you for detailed explanation. Got it.

Hi,
this only depends on your reading workflow.
To distinguish the news you read in the external browser from the ones you only clicked on you could use f.e. the star before reading.
So a possible reading workflow could be like this
- Mark the news you want to read with a star (just one click on the star sign)
- Double click the news to read it in the external browser
Afterwards you can easily filter the news you read in the external browser by using the filter "Show Starred".
Kind regards,
Sheldon
